Here is my uncanny story! 

On the day I decided to get myself a studio space, to begin painting seriously again, a series of synchronistic  events brought everything together for me in 48hours! Let me tell you this incredible little story of how it all happened.

I was chatting with a friend and expressing  the desire to find a workspace out of my home, and lo and behold, her tenant, who used my new studio space to stock bags of coffee, had just left the premises. She offered me her large  space, perfect for my work, for such a reasonable rent, that I could not refuse! 

Then thinking about the material I would need I found in the local classified advertisements that there was a  whole studio for sale quite close to my home. I was able to buy from another artist ‘a lot’ that he had bought in Avignon, from the children of a french artist Morvan, who was part of the circle of the very famous abstract painter Nicholas de Stael! 

There were easels, silver and gold pigments in glass jars, many kinds of paints, tondo format stretchers, and last but not least ten very large chassis, 195 x 130 cm! The famous 120F which I immediately recognised as a perfect format for my paintings! I was able to purchase the whole lot, and then the very next day, my husband who has a trucking business, happened to have a free truck, and everything was delivered to my new studio and so in the space of two days I found myself, set up with all the materials I needed , in the wonderful space I work in today! Life ! It was also particularly touching for me to begin work on the frames that had been used by Jean-Jaques Morvan, connecting me to a circle of French painters, and to an important collection of large abstract paintings.

Voici mon étrange histoire!

Le jour où j'ai décidé de prendre un atelier, pour me consacrer  à la peinture , une série d’événements simultanés  a tout réuni pour moi en 48 heures! Laissez-moi vous raconter cette incroyable petite histoire et la façon dont tout cela s'est passé.

Je discutais avec une amie et exprimais le désir de trouver un espace de travail hors de chez moi, et voilà que son locataire qui utilisait son espace studio pour stocker des sacs de café, venait de quitter les lieux. Elle m'a donc offert son grand espace, parfait pour mon travail, pour un loyer si raisonnable, que je ne pouvais pas refuser!

Puis en pensant au matériel dont j'aurais besoin, j'ai trouvé sur un site de petites annonces qu'il y avait le fond d’un atelier  à vendre tout près de chez moi. J'ai pu tout acheter à un autre artiste qui l’avait acheté lui même en Avignon, aux enfants d'un artiste français J.J. Morvan, qui faisait partie du cercle du très célèbre peintre abstrait Nicolas de Staël!

Il y avait des chevalets, des pigments argent et or dans des bocaux en verre, de nombreux tubes de peinture, des civières au format tondo, et enfin dix très grands châssis, 195 x 130 cm! Le fameux 120F que j'ai immédiatement reconnu comme un format parfait pour ma peinture ! J'ai pu acheter  le lot, puis le lendemain, mon mari, qui a une entreprise de transport, avait un camion disponible, et tout a été livré à mon nouvel atelier et en deux jours, je me suis retrouvée installée  avec tout le matériel dont j'avais besoin, dans le merveilleux espace dans lequel je travaille aujourd'hui! La vie est parfois merveilleuse ! C'était aussi particulièrement touchant pour moi de commencer à travailler sur les cadres qui avaient été utilisés par Jean-Jaques Morvan, me reliant à un cercle de peintres français, et à une importante collection de grandes peintures abstraites.
